Project Name : Calendar 2024
Task Scope : Paper Design
Category : Non-Commercial
Completion : Jan. 2024
Every new year brings the repetition of the same numbers, but the thought that 'no single day is exactly the same' led me to create an unusual calendar. Usually, calendars are expressed based on two axes: horizontal and vertical. Horizontal represents the day of the week, and vertical means the week of the month. Here, our lives represent fairly similar horizontals, but quite different verticals. A prime example would be regular weekdays and weekends occupying the same horizontal line repetitions, while adding special events from the first to the fourth week establishes a hierarchy among those horizontal lines. In this regard, I tried my best to express 'every day' more three-dimensionally by largely keeping the unchanging horizontal axis intact while applying height differences to the vertical axis. Furthermore, contemplating the faded colors characteristic of wall-hung calendars, I utilized Riso printing to implement this. Since it wasn't a calendar for sale, I wrapped up the project by gifting it to the people I worked with throughout 2023.
